Support: We Are Only as Strong as Our Weakest Link

The AVL has announced a fundraising campaign for a 12-hour overnight hotline, staffed by counselors who can offer advice and crisis counseling to vampires who experience impulses or dangerous thoughts about human feedings. In this manner, we hope to intervene before impulses escalate to action.

This is useless. Vampires are simply too barbaric for this to work. But I'll give you an A for effort for trying to get to humans to sympathize with them.

I use to be a huge vampire rights supporter until one of my daughters starting dating one of them. She looks like a giant pin cushion now and let me just tell you her daddy is not happy. Ya'll need to think about the cosmetic damage you're doing with all those fang marks. Guess my daughter won't be Peach Queen this year in Alabama, thanks a lot for ruining her chances at a college education.. – a disgusted mom

I believe true blood is an excellent way to keep each other in a balance, but I also believe that willing humans will donate to Vampire recipients. I would gladly do so! Stop the hate, why do humans always hate what they do not understand

I used to say "bite me" all the time as a catch phrase. My friends thought it was funny. I said it to one of my vampy friends one day without thinking and they did! I was pissed! I stopped saying "bite me" though. 🙁

I think there also need to be organized orientation sessions for newly created vampires. Not all makers are good communicators, and not all have that ever so important talk with their "children" about how to feed without killing. If more vampires are properly educated, then there will be fewer accidental deaths, and I'm sure there will also be a significant increase in the number of willing donors. Giving blood can be a very pleasurable, rewarding experience for both the vamp and the human. The enemy here is ignorance, not our fanged friends themselves!

A hotline staffed by your people is definitely a better way to go. We tried counseling vamps here at our parish mental health clinic. It was the brain child of our lead counselor, Bob. He designed a six-week program that employed traditional group therapy and a series of creative visualization exercises ( "Visualize yourself alone with a human and *not* taking their blood unless it's safe, sane, and consensual," etc.). It was all going very well until Week 2, when one of the vamps in Bob's Thursday night group suggested they do a role playing session. Needless to say, that was pretty much the end of our vampire outreach program. And of Bob.

Rest in Peace, Bob! We love you.

I am so glad that you have made this website to show all of the humans that you are sincere in your quest…..for extinction of us. It is true Nan that you were overheard telling Eric that humans are gullible…But I so love True Blood…I can not wait till you are exposed for the treacherous, lying back stabbing Bitch that you are!!

I think this is a great effort and a step forward for the Vampyre community. I think they are ase different from eachother as people but they have different nutrtional needs. The things that we could learn from them are countless. I've even hired a Vampyre History tutor for my children in the evenings! Who better to teach them history than someone who has lived it. I plan on exploring other areas of learning for them. This also teaches my children that everyone has a right to live, learn, and be happy with their path of choice. The children absolutely adore their tutor. ( who was turned in 750 BC) She has seen civilations rise and fall and she has become one of my closest friends to me also. I hope that Vampyre rights are soo adopted into society as truth and justice for all not just human. Thank You :0)

I am totally for equal rights for Vampires! As a matter of fact if Eric ever want to come for a visit he is more than welcome to…as is any other vampire for that matter!

I've only been changed last year, and people started to notice I didn't go out in the day. When I finally admitted what I was, everyone was giving me dirty looks, people have been clutching silver neclaces when I walk by, and more. It's horrible. I support the AVL. We vampires don't want special treatment, just normal treatment. To be treated like humans. Russell set us back so far! But if a few vampires are killers, so what? Not all of us are. Theres a lot of human killers, too, and humans have a hell of a lot more rights than us!

These are sentiments that all should be adhering to. If one and all are treated with kindness and respect, it simply makes it easier on everyone. Too often, though, what is spoken or said does not match with the actions taken or shown. To call out for tolerance must be for all, or it becomes too close to falsehood when any are slighted.
And yet, I must admit to a certain amount of trepidation, which is very likely born from being a vampire…I will not and cannot afford to merely take this league as it is presented. I find it rather disconcerting that there is no way to contact anyone here. Many of those who look over this site, may have ideas or suggestions to share. Or, they may have some problem of which they wish to make you aware.
If I have simply missed where such information an be found, please contact me, for I would truly like to know.
