I stand with the AVL. Even though I am human I have many vamp friends and I know they are just like the rest of us. The only difference is when we go out for dinner they have a Tru Blood as I eat a salad. Please stop the hate. Vamps are just like us!

Vampires were once humans too. Like us they want the companionship of others, to enjoy late night parties and equal rights. Why can't we get past the fact that they sleep during the day and drink blood? How is that any different from the average college student? Can't we all just get along?

Even though Russell Edgington says he is the true face of vampire, it's not true. Vampires have compassion and human sensibility if they so choose.

Even though I am all for the vampire rights amendment, I do hesitate to wonder why we need it.They do as they please, as do humans, but those who hate vampires will still treat vampires the same way. So in all actuality, what will change if we do get the amendment?

It is too easy to vilify an entire race of people due to the actions of a few. I stand with the AVL and hope to assist in improving Vampire-Human relations. In fact if any Vampires out there are looking to turn a human look me up! But I do need to get in better shape first. I saw this rather fat Vampire at the bar the other day and really cannot fathom the notion of looking out of shape like I do now for eternity. Is there a pre-making gym fitness routine available?

I just saw the new PSA! That Eric Northman can bite me anytime 😉

Vampires need to have they rights, but we also need to have liabilities and a commitment to the mortal world, a world where we "live" right now.

July 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterPale Angel

The mortals need garanties that they won't feed on us and erase our memories and heal the bite marks with their blood. They are killing machines, cute killing machines, designed for that sole purpose. I am not saying they don't deserve to have their rights protected as any other minority group, don't get me wrong. It's just a reminder of what this group could do if it's not watched closely. They are not an ilegal alien who came to work to support its family in another country, they are a well design been who can harm someone to satisfy its hunger. Let's support they rights , but remember to keep an eye on them.

I think vampires should have equal rights. They were indeed once human, and living longer than us is probably a good thing. Vampire doctors can work night shift, helping those in need when they need it, and are also way more experienced in what they do. Also we can get more information about the past now that Vampires are 'out of the coffin.' The people whom call themselves christian, are quite frankly Idiots, God is supposed to be an all loving person, so why should that exclude Vampires? Though i do have to admit a man, or a woman who is more skilled and smarter than she or he is supposed to be can be scary, it still means that the more smarter or skilled people means a better future for all Vampires, and humans alike.

How would you like to suck my balls Mr. Northman?

I'm getting a little frustrated because of all the looks me and my sister get when we are out in public. We packed up all our belongings and moved to the U.S. hoping for more acceptance. Instead, we have to put up with the stares, the comments, and not to mention the violence and abuse. Someone thought it would be funny to dump a red slushy upon my sister's head while at a local movie theatre. I demanded an apology but unfortunately, we did not recieve one. People need to realize that we DO have feelings and we are no different from any human. Our friends (who are human) have also been the focus of attacks. We have to keep our distance in order to keep them safe, and out of any trouble. My sister and I WANT to enjoy residing in a new place with exciting oppurtunities, and so would thousands upon thousands of other vampires. Why would we destroy everything we have worked for by being "killers" and "mosters"??? Wake up people… we are not the threat. You humans do more damage to yourselves and to the environment. We just want equality!

No one even bothers be about being gay now. Ever since my boyfriend came out to my friends about being a Vampire all those haters just left me alone, even two maybe three of them up'd and moved away.

P.S. Does anyone know where I can get come Gay Vampie relationship therapy? He came home a little early this morning and I think I saw some blood on the corner of his lip! I need some advice!

Vampires should have the same rights as we do already. They pay taxes into our economy, which supports our government. Why should they work and pay into something they have no say over?
They were like us once, some are new and still maintain their human sentiments and ideals, others have lived around us for eons. Why are we segregating them?

July 18, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAbbiss

I think it's crazy that anyone (human) should fear unity with vampires!

They have so much they can teach us, what do you think would keep bored, junior-high teenagers interested in history? A text book that is filled with words and pictures about places and events they don't care about? Or a special session night class where a vampire could give them first-hand knowledge of the historic moment in question?

We need to embrace our Vampire-Americans knowledge and experiences!

On a personal note, Eric Northman may appeal to some… but I heard the King of Louisiana speak and I think he should be doing your PSA's. He's very…. photogenic and honest to a fault!

I support everything the AVL stands for, Vampires are no different to people they are all individuals sure some are good and some are but but isnt that the case with Humans?
There are already unnecessary divides in our society based on Gender, Age, Sexual Preference, we shouldn't add another subcategory to this.
This is why i have always and will always support all equal rights groups, including the AVL

For 450 years I have watched civilization grow into what is now our society. I watched the cruel discriminations of our past fade away. As a Vampire, I am not a blood sucking abomination, I am a person with love and respect in all the simple joys in the world. I drink true blood with my Human friends as they eat food and drink water. And I recall a Human disease were a person has a fatal reaction when in sunlight, And you don't see Ant-vampire foundations protest against them. Im allergic to Sunlight and Silver, Big Deal. I respect the Human race along. My name is Radu Sylvester, Im a Vampire and apart of the AVL.

Some of us have been night walkers for thousands of years. I know more about my human life from historical accounts, than I can remember. Imagine what it is like, to look 32 years old, but actually have lived over 3000 years. Sometimes, a person can almost forget their human life. BUT! I am still the person I was when I lived. Russel was known to have been a crazy ruler, killing whole villages, when he was in his human life. Maybe he could TRY and seem like a southern gentleman, but that is just one of hundreds of disguises and names he has used over the millenia, to cover his real personality. WHen he lived as a person, he wasnt human. He wasnt human when a vampire. Some of us who knew him before his second death, realize now that Talbot was the only reason Russel had any connection to humans…he had SOME love in his life. When Talbot met the second death, there was nothing left in Russel. I'm not making excuses. But I've seen a LOT of vampires, and people, die over the millenia. Being VAMPIRE, means you accept the night, and death, not accept evil, or kill for Joy. Even now, I rarely drink blood. And i admit, my age doesnt give me much in common with most people of this age. I've seen the BAD DAYS for vampires, like Spain 400 years ago. NOBODY wants that again. We all feel terrible about what Russel did. Just remember, before you start to hate us—we might be your great great great great Grandfather. OR, we might have been friends with King Solomon. We are not the boogey man. We are just pieces of the past, alive in the ways that matter, willing to share our culture, history, and friendship with the world. All we ask is a warm bottle of TRUEBLOOD, and your trust. IF we were all like Russel, you would see his behavior Every Night. Your vampire friends and neighbors are just as horrified by Russel, as humans are.

As a new born vampire and as one created not by my choice, but by the choice of my lonely maker. I stand with the AVL. I do not wish to harm any human which does not pose a threat to me. It's the talk of extermination which makes vampires scared. Humans have nothing to fear from normal vampires who wish to live their lives in peace, It's the heartless ones you have to worry about. And as for Mr.Northman, stop by fangtaisa and he will show you a wonderful time. Thanks again doll…

I am human as I am mortal, I have and always will be vampire at heart, I cant remember a time that I didnt dream of being one, even as a child.

July 23, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterHartsaflame

I long to see the day when Vampires and, if there are any, other supernatural entities share the same rights that we humans do. The Fellowship of the Sun would have the humans of the world view vampires and other beings as monsters, but humans have been the face of darkness for millions of years. We are all monsters. Therefore, we are all equals- even if we're not physically, we are inside.

July 23, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJessica Raisor

I am happy for you all, that you have got the avl because in germany, where i am living, vampires don't have equal rights!!!
a lot was murdered on my birthday because of an attack with a silverbomb
the police doesn't searched the murderer

Being a simpleton Vampire, I can not agree more with the sentiments of the American Vampire League. I'm so proud that my kind are doing something about the blatant disregard that humans have against us. I've lived for hundreds of years in the dark hoping for some change towards our kind and once it finally came Russel set us back a hundred years. I'm a TruBlood drinking, human loving vampire. Just because I'm a vampire, shouldn't mean I'm treated any differently than I was 536 years ago as a human. I'm just more… experienced than the average girl. (I mean that as innocently as possible.) I stopped into Fangtasia once to see what the fuss was all about and it's definitely worth the hype, even if it is in sleepy town Bon Temps, LA. Mr. Northman was obliging, the staff is friendly, the bathrooms are clean. I recommend it. You really must let your hair down and enjoy being who you are, even vampires.

July 23, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAurelia

I have no problem with Vampires…think they could teach history lessons to many. I'm sure some could tell stories of our Founding Fathers and the work they did on the Constitution they our present leaders seem to stomp on. On the other hand, one thing that "ticks" me off is those nasty werewolves. When they go on their night runs, it would be nice if they would do it on their own property. I'm tired of my dogs howling and having to clean up the mess in the yard the next day!

July 23, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterBatgirl115

Vampires should have equal rights and as such i fully support the AVL. They aren't asking for special treatment they are simply asking for the same rights as everybody else. The are not the monsters that books of fiction and the fellowship of the sun make them out to be.

Can I have a little private chat with Mr Northman please?
